Extra Credit Assignmnet Part 2: Simone

In this neighborhood with the houses and their large glass windows from my previous post, I found this house. I emmediately thought of James Griffioen and his Ferel Houses. His photographs truly show how abandoned sites quickly grow over with plant life. Returning the landscape to its natural way of being. And how humans put a lot of money in maintaining buildings to keep the nature out. I felt that this exhibit had a lot to do with the quest to return to nature because the forms we are imposing on the natural environment are hurting us and it. We have turned a green landscape into a paved landscape and this house is an example of accepting nature and inviting it to reclaim itself on the landscape. Or you can see this house as a symbol of the battle between nature reclaiming itself and humans trying to maintain its reclamation since half the house is covered in vines and the other half is vine free.
